This week we have been practising counting all the way to 100! We have been using this song to help. If you’d like to practise at home, here is the link.
This week in Maths we have been counting up and down between zero and one hundred. We have also been comparing objects and numbers to see which is bigger and smaller. For homework we would like you to do something to show if you understand how to order from smallest to biggest. You might want to draw a poster, take photographs of yourself or make a model showing different sized objects. Be as creative as you can!
We have had a lot of fun settling into Squirrel class over the last few weeks! Here are a few photos of the things we have been doing.
Here we are doing relay races in PE.
We have had lots of fun in Math learning about bigger and smaller objects and numbers.
We have also been learning about the months of the year. We put them in the right order and added our birthday.
Today we have been singing a song to help to learn the order of the months of the year. If you would like to practise the song at home, here is the link!
For homework in Year 1 this week we would like you to make something about your favourite story character. It might be a character from a familiar story from school, a character from a fairy story or perhaps your favourite superhero. You could draw a picture, make a model or maybe even film yourself talking about them. Have fun with it!
So far this term we have been learning about the sun. Today we moved on to thinking about what a shadow is and how it is created. Hedgehogs came up with some brilliant thoughts and ideas. After learning that shadows are made when light can’t travel through an object, each Hedgehog practised making their own shadows on our whiteboard (because the weather wasn’t cooperating enough for us to make them outside).
