Squirrel Instructions

This week in English we are learning about instructions. We will be experiencing giving and following instructions, investigating what makes a good set of instructions, and writing our own instructions.

Today we followed Mrs Huse’ instructions during a game of Simon Says and then gave a partner the instructions to make a Christmas tree decoration.

Funky Footwear

Today we had our special Funky Footwear fundraising day. We had a lot of fun wearing different shoes!

Thanks Everyone!

Thank  you so much to everyone who was able to come to Parent Evening! In Squirrel class today we were thinking about all the Mums, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunties, Uncles, cousins, and everyone else who help us so much. We want to say a huge thank you for everything you do! Thumbs up from all of us. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with you all.

Fractions Homework

Over the last two weeks in Maths we have been learning about halves and quarters. For homework this week we would like you to make something to show us what you have learned. You could make a poster about halves and quarters, or make a video of you explaining what they are. You might want to make something to help another child learn about halves and quarters – or think about when you might need to share into halves and quarters in real life. Use your creativity and choose how you want to present what you have learnt.

Tricky Words:

This week we have been learning how to read and write these tricky words. If you could practise them at home with your child it would be hugely helpful.

Parents’ Evenings

parentsevening

We are looking forward to seeing you at our Parents’ Evenings tomorrow and on Thursday. You will be able to have a look through your children’s books as well as meeting to speak to your class teacher.

Please do make sure that you arrive on time for your meeting. Our appointments are only for ten minutes each and we cannot hold up other people by running over time if you arrive late. If you can’t remember your appointment time please check with your teacher tomorrow morning.

Many thanks.

Ms Gomulka, Mrs Huse and Mrs Hawkes

Homework – What have you been doing?

What have you been doing?

Next week in Literacy you will be writing about something you have done recently (perhaps over the weekend). For homework we would like you to do an activity and record it visually. You might want to take photographs of yourself, film yourself or draw pictures to show what you did. Then, later next week, you will get to write all about it.

Here are some ideas to help you choose something to do (but feel free to come up with your own activity!):

  • Build something from lego or out of junk
  • Make cakes
  • Visit a friend or relative
  • Go for a walk and try to spot things in nature
  • Play a fun game with someone in your family
  • Go shopping (don’t forget to help carry the bags!)
