Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Well Done to the whole of Year 1 for all their hard work this term. We hope you have a wonderful break, make sure you are doing lots of reading and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
From the Year 1 Team.
We went to Santa’s workshop in Maths today. First we designed some wrapping paper, using repeating patterns.
Then we chose a 3D shape to wrap up using our paper.
Then we wrapped the presents and it was quite tricky!
Then we gave our present to a friend and they had to guess what 3D shape it was (without peeking!)
Then we got to unwrap the presents and see if we were right.
What a fun day in Squirrel class!
We had our Christmas lunch at school today and we even wore our Christmas hats that we made for our performance. Here we are enjoying the yummy food!
We have been having lots of festive fun in class, writing Winter themed poems, designing and creating festive cards using shapes and watching performances across the school. Here we are having fun!
Thank you to all those that came to our performance today. We had so much fun singing for you and we hope you enjoyed it!
(We also hope that your pictures were better than Miss Brown’s!)
Spelling this week are:
they, all, are, one, do, when, out, what, my, her.
Some of our lights have stopped working! Can you count how many have stopped working? Can you fill in the missing numbers to make them work again?
We are excited to invite you to come and watch our Year 1 performance of some festive songs on Monday 11th December from 09.00-09.30.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible!
