Baby photos for Year 1

Please can everyone in Year 1 bring in a baby photo for our History lesson on Monday. This can be of your child as a tiny baby, a toddler or even a more recent photo of them aged 4 years old.

All Year 1: Junk Modelling Materials

Dear Parents,

We would love some junk modelling donations! If you have anything that could be used in our Art and D&T lessons for model making, please can you bring it in to the classroom over the next couple of weeks!

Examples include cereal boxes, milk and juice cartons, bottles, food containers, etc.

HOWEVER: Please no toilet rolls!

Kind regards,

The Year 1 Teachers

Badgers: Number Bonds

Last week and this week, we have been learning about number bonds to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 AND 10! As you can tell we’ve been really busy!

We’ve used different resources to help us, like tens frames, number cards, cubes, pictorial representations and songs.

Can you find the Jack Hartmann number bonds to 10 song on Youtube to practice at home?

Badgers: African Fans

In Art, we made some beautiful African fans. We focused on the technique of ‘pleating’. This is where you fold over a thin strip of paper, turn the sheet over and repeat, all the way up to the end! We decorated our fans with beautiful, colourful patterns and then attached lollipop sticks onto them for handles.

Can you spot yours? What would you do differently if you did this activity again? Can you practice your pleating at home?

ALL YEAR 1 – Harvest Festival

To celebrate Harvest Festival we are donating to a charity which helps people who do not have any food.

If you have any spare tinned food, such as beans, tinned fruit, spaghetti hoops etc. or dry food, such as pasta, please bring it in to support them.

Please bring the food in this week, as on Friday it will all be collected.

Thank you,

Year 1
