Odd and Even Homework

oddeven10_thumb[4]

This week in Maths we have been reminding ourselves about the difference between odd and even numbers. For homework we would like you to make something to help you to remember which is which. You might want to make a poster, write a rhyme or compose a song. Be creative and have fun!

Does It Float Or Sink?

The Jolly Postman has a problem! He needs to deliver letters but there is a river in the way and he doesn’t have a boat. The children chose different objects to test so that they could find appropriate materials to make a boat that would float. We tested wood, a brick, a plastic container, a metal bowl, and a cardboard box and recorded whether they sank or floated on the water. The cardboard box was very interesting. First it floated, then after a while it sank! The children decided that he could use plastic, wood, or metal.

Artist Homework

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about the work of famous artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keefe.   For your homework we would like you to research the work of another artist.   Some useful websites are:

Present your work however you like.  You can do a factsheet, produce your own version of one of their pieces or create an original work in their style.   Be creative and have fun.

Hedgehogs at Sports Day

Thank you all for coming along yesterday to cheer on the Hedgehogs at Crystal Palace. We had a brilliant day and have lots of fabulous photos to share with you. Thank you especially to our parents helpers – we couldn’t have done it without you.
